I'm all good. Wore a back brace for 8 weeks, posture is now amazing, but lost my core strength, so doing Pilates to sort that.
Drops and discs are obviously the look this season! The Vaya looks very similar to my Dew Drop, it just costs twice as much.
I never seem to make this easy on myself. April done while returning from camping, on a fully loaded touring bike in hilly country, mostly into a strong headwind. Managed to plan it well enough that i crossed 100k as i rolled down my street. Ouch.
Grrr (Teenage Voice On) its so unfair. Im off to sulk now
(Teenage Voice Off)
it's a lovely day here, so obviously the reach of your mudguard karma is limited...
our man on the inside says it weighs 10.6kg / 23.32lb.
Thats for the comments, Dave, Makes sense really
Gaz
What a bastard!
Glad you got out alive.
No need to clog up a jail cell with this driver, but I can't see why he should be allowed to use a lethal weapon (car) again. Beggars belief.
not unless you're unhappy with the spds or you've got a pile of money burning a hole in your pocket and nothing else to spend it on. I do most of my long rides on spds and i've never had any problems, plus you can actually walk when you get to the cafe. In terms of performance you're really not going to notice the difference. Or, at least, I don't. Certainly you're not going to be shaving minutes off your commuting time.
if you want a more roadie look with your spds then Shimano's new RT81 shoes are definitely worth a look
how many bikes have y'all had stolen? two for me: a crappy mtb when i was at uni, and a nice-ish cannondale from the lean-to at the back of my house. Had a town hack stolen once too but that doesn't count cause i never locked it up...
88" for a 10TT machine? pah. mine's gonna be a 99". bring on the hurt*
*okay, with the option for 90" too
Have to agree with Mrs R on choosing a bike! I want one.
Those tubes in action and of course, Justin Burls' new Ti mount.
Gutted, im on Holiday then
Only just seen this (Had a few issues over January/Febuary) but wow, to be named along side Armstrong, Wiggo and Cav !
Wow Thank You !!!!!
dare I say riding 88" in a ten mile TT, when you are used to it, is a bit different to riding much further on a 79" when you're not
Surley this is a wind up.....
If not it is probably the best I have ever heard. I love the bit about being happy because he played Bingo and was given new pants.
Great find Nick
Loving the story here about Sky Norwegian Kurt Asle Arvesen stuck on an oil rig with only a spinning bike and burly Norwegian oil workers for company. It's the oil rig workers I feel sorry for.

I would also be racing the Amstel Gold if it wasn't for the planes - shame I was looking forward to putting Wiggins in the hurt locker. Guess it will have to wait till next year then.
...ahh if only ....
Bit late to tell your wife now, OldRidgeback, but the London Marathon is next weekend
I was in London today, so I went over to London Bridge to see what was happening and took the picture above.
For those who don't know the area, this is the junction of Southwark Street and Borough High Street. The Shard site itself is just down the road to the right of the building with the pyramid-shaped roof.
At weekends, this junction is VERY busy with pedestrians and, yes, cyclists because of Borough Market (over the road to the left). The sunshine and the end of the Easter holidays brought a lot of people, including families with kids, as well as tourists, to the market.
With Borough High Street (to the right) closed southbound, the lorries - at least, I assume the ones going to and from the Battersea site - had to go down Southwark Street, taking them right past the market.
I would have expected to see traffic police out helping to ensure that everything ran smoothly and safely; apart from a couple of PCSOs wandering round the market, the only police I saw seemed to be checking up on football fans in the local pubs.
I probably saw an average of a lorry every couple of minutes going either to or from the site, and let's just say that not all the drivers seemed to be taking things particularly slowly through this junction and on into Southwark Street.
Let's just hope the weekend passes without incident.
Science seems to show that energy is not lost when the bottom bracket area flexes, but that the energy is delivered back into the drive-train as the BB flexes back. Stiffness really isn't all we are led to believe in a bike frame.
Lifted from Bike Think -
Try this experiment. It will work best if you mount your bike to a trainer and disengage the resistance roller.
Put the cranks in the horizontal position.
Place a rigid block or stool under the forward pedal so that there is a small gap under the pedal.
While holding the rear brake firmly, stand on the pedal so that it is pushed down to the stool.
Keep holding the pedal down and release the brake.
When you pushed the pedal down, the chain did not move since the brake locked the rear wheel. Since the chain did not move, no work energy was delivered through the chain. The crank moved down with the pedal as the frame was strained. When you released the brake, the frame was able to move the center of the crank back up to relieve the strain energy. But the pedal remained in it's lower position, so the crank had to rotate around the pedal as the bottom bracket went up. There was a reaction force in the chain and the chain moved as the crank rotated around the stationary pedal. The strain energy of the frame was converted to rotation kinetic energy in the wheel.
A Fenland clarion lad came up north to ride the Bolton clarion ten today Jimmy, he rode 88" fixed, not a bad ride either, stick with it, Boots!
I would prefer to be stuck somewhere than waiting ehre to go. We have been saving up for 18 months to go to HK, Krabi and Beijing and have only a small window where our respective employers will allow us be off. Gutted.
Booked return flights with air china, then cathay pacific (more flights so more options we thought), then thai one way, hk express and air asia throughout asia and ba return. Am now broke so no more options!
