those are the high scores for the whole season. they're all from three stages though, the last two of the basque and the final stage of paris-nice.

i haven't changed anything, so presumably all the time you've been moaning it's been working just fine?

  • Forum's Scorum's Mini League1 year 8 weeks agoNeilG83 takes the lead of the

NeilG83 takes the lead of the Forum's Scorum's Vuelta Pais Vasco thanks to another massive score(257!!)and is currently in the form of his life but chrisdstripes scored 195pts and still dropped 3 places into 4th!! Wig_Billy seems to have tied up the purist prize a while ago.

Alan Tullett has moved up into 2nd spot in the Forum's Scorum's Overall above ray silvester(OUCH)in what looks like a season long battle and NeilG83's Vuelta form has seen him move from 10th to 7th during the time we've been in the Basque Country.
Wig_Billy holds leads of 566 standard and 453 purist.....that's a long way up the road!!

After a good start my team suffered from:

    1)No Henao
    2)Stuck with Cunego too long
3)Gamble on Schleck(could have afforded Betancur)

I think the performances today will be heavily influenced by motivation.....i.e Peter Velits has the skills to top 5 but will he bother?

  • Staying visible!1 year 8 weeks agoI use front and rear lights

I use front and rear lights which I feel do a good job of keeping me visible, I'll possibly buy a fluro to put her at ease - though I don't think its going to make much difference... I've only had one close call and I had lights on then so my feelings are if someone doesn't see me...they don't see me...not much to be done.
I can see why fluro would help in dull conditions, but I'd imagine it would be worse in bright/summer light looking washed out in the sun.

  • Rapha Team Sky replica kit now available1 year 8 weeks ago1. All UK limited companies

    1. All UK limited companies have shareholders.. In the last report filed they have 15 shareholders including Nicholas Evans, wonder why Evans Cycles in the UK are the only retail outlet for the Sky Kit wonder no more...

    2. Burberry went to attract a younger market by providing garments to mainstream celebrities in the UK and it went a bit wrong from what I read in the NYT. But that is only an opinion...

    3. The samples we were sent in the US look and feel decidedly poly cotton like a polo shirt.

    4. So Rapha is now a charity? Surely its picked Sky as the top team to sell kit, there are 47 Sky items available on the US site.

    5. Yep, I understand the principle of the on ramp product, Rapha already had plenty of these before the sky kit went online.

Speshrider, do you have to get the bearings out to re-grease, and if so is this easy to do without dismantling them, or can I just take the cranks off and grease around the bearings in place? (I'm nowhere near Kilburn, or I'd bring it in for you to look at!) Thanks

Best way is to remove cranks, clean and lightly sand rough areas back to a shine using a fine sandpaper, clean bearing surfaces and around bearing seals, brush a small amount of grease over all contact surfaces and re-fit cranks. If problem persists after a mile of riding (the grease needs to work its way in) then it's either new bearing time or (less likely but still worth checking) a small fracture in the frame..

Apologies for the lateness of my reply. Hope this helps..

It's difficult to comment without seeing photos but if this runner was far enough out into the road to deliberately cause an issue for other traffic AND nearly ran into a group of people looking the other way I'd suggest he is an arse and needs to learn some manners. The same would apply to a cyclist or any other road user.

I know what you are saying; my thoughts are that they are both wrong to a certain degree, but that the cyclist is more wrong? Reason being that he feels he had the legal right to force the runner off the road because there was a more suitable place to run nearby? This seems very close to the cyclists should use cyclepaths arguement? But as I said I am just interested in peoples reactions, I am not going to get all upset etc as I was not either participant! Cheers!

  • I wish I'd kept it...1 year 8 weeks agoA few years ago I went on

A few years ago I went on holiday with my mates in the summer and whilst on holiday my parents decided to clear out the garage. The day after I come back I decided that I wanted to go out on my bmx (which I admit hadn't been used since the summer before). I was all ready to go out and I knew my friends were waiting for me when I realised there was an issue, my beloved bike was gone. I immediately found my mum and asked if she knew where it was to hear the reply "the red one which was way too small for you? Yeah I gave it to the charity shop because it didn't fit you" she then went on to add that it had been sold within the hour. I have sinced try to replace it but it's one of those things that's gone for good Sad

  • Staying visible!1 year 8 weeks agoNice strong flashing rear

Nice strong flashing rear light if you/she are anxious. I do think that muted colours can disappear on the road, but I don't think they need to be hi vis. Even in bright sunlight, areas shaded by trees can be problematic with drivers legitimately doing 60mph, if they don't see you...

But the very thought of wearing a hi vis sash - I'm with you, no way!
