Simon, I would tell him, YES, because of his socks....WTF are they about?
Also, his bar tape needs replaced, if that's white....

This is not a pro rider. He was wearing a Sky jersey in local club '10' last night:
Would you tell him to his face that he looks wanky?
Thought not.
There was a 13 year old kid at the same event in a British Cycling skinsuit (not the first I've seen), racing a 2-up with his Dad. Is he wanky too?
Just the three badges for me but assuming that tomorrow's Giro stage goes ahead I'm pretty confident of hitting 10k (might even manage it tonight).
So far I've made 20 penalty transfers (-200 points) and I'm 78th, 209 points behind the leader.
I'm not saying that by any means I'd be nearer the top of the table if I hadn't made those transfers but I think it's potentially a valid tactic to use. It all depends on how varied the stages are. For the Tour it may work better to throw in penalties before 3 or 4 days of similar terrain. The Giro has just been too varied and unpredictable to make it work consistently.

Are Sky paying you to wear their team kit? If not, why wear it?
Screw it. Wear yellow, pink, polka dots, green, sky or Rainbow. But please honor the jersey with your sweat and graft because the true winners had to work for it. Sites like velominati are complete bollocks. The authors should take up golf instead. Instead educate people, bring in new riders. Share it, don't add barriers to entry.
Ditto. 4 badges in one day is quite good although nearly everyone had more or less the same riders. Noticed you've been creeping up on me and are now a little ahead. Looks like our battle of last year is back on.

Talking of discount, our lbs got us 'last seasons' models, which saved a few quid. The only difference was the colour schemes.
£59 over your budget. And it's ridden by a girl!

When you upgrade, because you'll become hooked, you'll have a training bike.
Useful reading for those of us in the southern hemisphere, though, as are users' comments. Enjoy your "summer".
My wife is around 5', our lbs recommend a xxs Women specific Giant FCR. It's got flat bars, 700c wheels, a triple chainset & 9 speed cassette. It looks & rides great. Would recommend Giant bikes.
I see Simon E is recommending the Giant SCR, this was my first road bike, they do come with drop bars.
My wife is 5 foot exactly, it has been really important to get her to sit on a bike before she buys it, the online retailers are simply no help, which is a shame because there are some real bargains out there.
Go into a bike shop, you can still get quite a bit of discount if you are cheeky, but most importantly, the bike will fit you. Where do you live? You may be able to get some shop recommendations based on that.
My wife had a Trek Lexa, the 47 cm size should fit you nicely and before that a Spec Dolce again in that size.
We will see who will lead come the dauphine and tour de suisse, I'm not counting wiggo out yet!
They would have a fit if I turned up, I'm still using my shimano stormtrooper mtb shoes, mtb spd's and a giro hex with shock horror, a peak!
Only had my road bike 4 weeks, really enjoying it and couldn't give a toss if I'm not conforming.
I've got a pair of prescription Oakley Whiskers and they are fantastic. The frames are very strong and they have excellent lenses. The shape is great for cycling. I'm getting another pair with transition lenses so I can use them after sunset, but this time I will shop around on the web. I've found I can get a pair for about £125, although the lenses won't be Oakley, but good enough for what I need. Hope this is helpful.
Fair point racyrich. But no, not quite, I did do it before though, but I will confess it was hit and miss and the new purchase did help re-motivate me. Sorry I'm not a purist and most probably a little flawed then.
I was so close too. Gutted
Only if you have the riders kit to go with it
After what he pulled with Garmin I am not sure this Sir is all about honour, tbh.
As for The Rules... well it is a very toungue in cheek site, and a lot of folks out there do seem to take what they say to heart and get offended. Chill people, it's not worth getting wound up about it.
Yep. Took me ages typing so the others (posts that is) got in before me
I personally wouldn't wear it, but thats more to do with Sky and News International... I won't have The Sun in the house!
Wear exactly what you want to wear. The fashion snobs maybe having a bit of a laugh with the rules, but it goes too far if it makes people feel self conscious or somehow not "proper". I did see a bloke wearing a green and yellow superman outfit complete with cape this week though... would I be a hypocrite if I said maye that was a bit much? I had to do a double take.
