Replacing old crank on road bike

I have an old Bianchi with Shimano 105 parts - 9 gears
I would like to replace the crank with a compact (getting old ...)

any idea if the newer cranks (designed for 10 gears) will do the job?
how about the FSA components? do they work well with Shimano parts?

WTD: Swap my Dura Ace chainset (52/39) for your compact

I'm not strong enough to push a big ring up proper hills, so I'd like to swap my dura ace chainset for an equivalent compact.

It's 7800, in very good nick - a few of the usual scuffs but nothing bad. Teeth look good too, hasn't done too many miles. Crank length is 172.5mm.

I'm looking for 7850, or similar - I'll consider SRAM, FSA etc . gotta be compact though.

Freehub Not Ticking

Hi all

I purchased a new Cube Agree GTC SL in August. The wheels are Fulcrum Racing 5s and the rear cassette is Shimano Ultegra 12-25. The bike is great but one thing I have noticed is that the freehub on the rear wheel only "ticks" very occasionally when I'm not pedalling. There are no other problems. Is this something I should be worried about?

I bought the bike online from a retailer miles away from where I live so it would be very difficult for me to take it back to them to check this out if it is a problem.

Any (constructive!) suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks a lot.
