Cassette biting into freehub

I bought some new wheels at the end of last year and I was doing some maintenance on the bike a few weeks ago and noticed that the rear wasn't spinning as freely as I'd have expected. I took it off and spun it in my hands and it still wasn't spinning so I decided to take the rear cassette off and see if I could figure out what the problem is.

After releasing the locking nut the first few cassette rings came off the hub without any trouble but then I couldn't get any more off. Whilst I haven't been to the gym recently I didn't think that my strength had abandoned me entirely so I had a good look and realised that the rings had 'bitten' through the splines on the freehub and locked itself in place.

Shimano Ultegra Triple gear shifter

I bought a Cube Streamer at the end of last year, and although I had only done a few hundred miles my gear shifter broke. The bike shop replaced it but was off the road for two weeks. Now after just another 1000 miles it has gone again. I hope they replace them but again this is pain to not have my bike. Has anyone else had any problems with this gear shifter

Chains - what's compatible with what?

Hello, I'm in need of a new chain. The one I want to get has 112 links, but the one I currently have has 116. Is there going to be a problem fitting the new one? I'm assured that it is Shimano 10 spd (which is what I have) compatible. I've seen all kinds that are compact only, different widths, pin lengths etc. I feel im in a minefield and am guarenteed to buy the wrong thing.
I currently have a Shimano 105 5701 chain on an 11-28 cassette with a compact chainset. and am plannig to get this chain: http://www.highonbikes.com/drivetrain/chains-road/kmc-x10-93-silver-grey...

changing to Shimano Tiagra

I have a 9 speed and I'm having trouble finding a new tiagra 4503 crankset. I've been told that I can use the newer 4603 which is for a 10 speed. Does anyone know if it is compatible? thanks
