Six affordable* pro race bikes

Perhaps one of the most elegant attractions of cycling is the opportunity to be able to ride the very same bicycle that Mark Cavendish sprints to victory on, or like the one Bradley Wiggins rode to Tour de France success last year. You really can walk into a bike shop and ride away on bike that's almost identical. Try doing that in Formula One...

Quest 'Kamano' Scandium race frame

This is a very light, very strong & very stiff road frame by Quest of Harrow. It comes complete with a carbon fork (uncut!) & Campagnolo Chorus headset. The tubing is light, strong & stiff SC7 butted Scandium, still the preferred choice of many top riders.

Size is 'Small' but see the diagram for more size details. The frame is in very good condition, with just one minor blemish on the top tube which you won't see when riding the bike. The frame has never been ridden – an unfinished project that I didn't complete.

A bargain at £200

Carbon vs Titanium

AaaHhhhh Can somebody, anybody help me please....or maybe shed some light...???
I'm drowning in confusion, I have a list of bikes about as long as my legs & I don't know anymore.
I have a budget of £1,500 - £2k & I'm looking to upgrade my steed to something more worthy.

I Originally had a small list of Carbon bikes maybe a ribble R872, or a BMC roadracer, or a Specialized Roubaix, or a boardman road team, or a cinelli saetta, or a dolan (as I'm NW based) but then I heard about Ti & the Van Nich has been drawing me in.
Titanium sounds amazing but now I'm not sure if Ti is right...

Ironman to Bike Only

Hello all, I've been into triathlon for the last few years and have completed up to and including a 70.3. I'm entered in IM Wales this year but, like so many people, am seriously losing my motivation and the thought of stealing every weekend for the next 4.5 months from my wife just isn't doing it for me just now. I am fully aware that no one gives a monkey's whether I complete an IM other than me - but what I really enjoy is riding my bike. To that end I'm really curious to know what my best path into (very!!) low end racing is likely to be, in terms of events etc. Should I look at a crit?

Ronde Van Vlaanderen 2013: From the roadside

Spectating at Ronde Van Vlaanderen is an unforgettable experience. The weekend, with the sportive on the Saturday allowing anybody to ride the same course as the pros do battle on the following day, is a wonderful experience. It’s more than simple bike racing, it’s a festival of everything that Belgium stands for.

Racing in a Skinsuit

Apart from in the team car and in the leg, how do the pros keep food when they're skinsuited up?

Want to race in mine, and seeing as I don't have a team car, and only two legs, wondering where to keep the fuel.

Thanks.

Does Ian Stannard have what it takes to win a classic?

Ian Stannard showed that he's a classics winner in the making with an impressive show of force and power in the Dwars door Vlaanderen this week. But his futile attacks exposed a tactical naivety, leaving him to finish a disappointing 9th place.

Taylor Phinney

Heart warming piece on Phinneys epic cycle! http://m.europe.wsj.com/articles/a/SB10001424127887324532004578358780883... worth a read for that feel good about cycling factor!
