Insurance

So an incident this weekend made me consider getting insurance but after having a look around I am baffled

Can anyone give me a good policy that is a fairly reasonable price and would be offering something like -

If one of them ugly smoke emitting boxes came into contact with my bike, resulting in it no longer operating I'd get some money (even if said person doesn't stop)

If my bike is stolen - not too worried about this home insurance covers this (from home, and perhaps if I'm out n about)

I'm looking into insurance for me on this year's Etape, particularly third party liability and personal accident cover.

Does anyone have any experience or advice on obtaining insurance for participating in a cycling event abroad that they could please share?

Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for insurance for my road bike, a Ridley Excalibur, which I race on quite regularly. I'm aware that some insurers won't protect my bike for racing on roads and I was just wondering which insurers would? Or do people just rely on their regular insurers and touch wood when it comes to something happening in a race?
I've had the bike insurance that BC advertise to members and it seems a touch steep to me.

I'm currently looking for bike insurance to cover multiple bikes. Can anyone recommend or even advise against any specific companies. Thanks
