Giant's new TCR SL 2 is £1,250 of well specced aluminium loveliness, with a delightful ride character and all the potential to stand a few upgrades over the years. Yes, it's not carbon, but at this price I think you're better off with aluminium. And this isn't any ordinary aluminium frame: Giant have poured all their knowhow into producing a feathery light 1,050g frame. That's light enough to give many carbon frames a bloody nose.

I am looking for new, hybrid bike that is good for commuting around 9 miles a day and the odd weekend longer ride.

So far I have the Giant Rapid and the Specialized Sirrus in mind. Does anyone have either of these two bikes and would recommend them? Or does anyone know of any other hybrids between £500-£800?

For Sale is a 2010 Giant Defy 3 Large (55cm) which has been upgraded.

This bike started out as a standard Defy 3 but has had the whole group set replaced and upgraded to something more usable.

The bike is 2010 but has been used on and off for maybe a year in total. A persistent injury has stopped me from really using the bike that much. Due to age and mainly being moved around the house there are a few marks on the frame and forks. The top tube does have a mark on it and so do the forks (see pictures). But overall the bike is in good condition and looks great.
