Commuting
oneLuggage Practical Shirt Carrier
English company OneLuggage makes gear for business travel, some of which looks useful for commuting cyclists. The Practical Shirt Carrier is just that: and it's not hiding its light under a bushel. It is indeed a practical way of carrying your shirt so that it doesn't get creased and rumpled in your bag on the way to work.
OneLuggage draws, so it says, on over 20 years of business travel to make stylish, practical luggage. Its kit is modular, meaning different bits work together, and you can mix and match to your heart's content.
Genesis Equilibrium and racks/panniers
Morning all!
I'm on the hunt for a commuter bike/winter bike. My requirements are/were:
"Normal" road bike
Mudguard mounts
Rack mounts
No disc brakes (interesting tech, but early days!)
No cantis (a PITA to maintain IME)
Tigara as a minimum
Not bothered re. steel or aluminium
...all for £1000, or thereabouts.
Found a couple of bikes that tick all the boxes (Trek 1.5, Ridgeback Platinum, Giant Defy), but they left me cold...although the Ridgebacks look pleasingly sensible, so they're an outsider.
Sold!
Great bike for commuting or getting around town. It's seen light use over the last two years (getting to uni and back), plus a couple of sportives. Just been completely stripped down and serviced, with a brand new bottom bracket fitted. Also replaced the tyres only last year.
First to see will buy - this is a fantastic city bike! Frame size medium (55cm). I'm 5'10 and it fits me well. Price is negotiable (within reason). I'm in Bristol and would prefer local pickup/drop off within reasonable distance.
Thanks for looking
Here are the Giant full specs...
FS: Bits & bobs including helmet cam, frame pump, seatpost, Dahon front rack
To clear some space in the shed and fund a longtail bike to fill that space, I’m selling a few bits and bobs I’ll never use.
Gonna sell the car and cycle commute instead - advice needed
Hey,
I've just accepted a new job and plan to sell the car and cycle commute instead. It's a 20-mile round trip through the Leeds hinterland, so nothing too arduous if a little busy traffic-wise.
I've only ever ridden for leisure before so I'm looking for advice - kit tips, lights and any hard-earned knowledge.
My plan is to buy a trailer to take the baby to the childminder. That's only half a mile away so I'll ditch it and then ride to work. I'll be riding my Spesh Allez.
Video bus driver uses bus as a weapon - not for the faint hearted...
This is unbelievable - worst I've ever seen. Sadly it just confirms my highly unfair and stereotype laden ranking of the worst drivers: worst = bus drivers, followed closely by White van drivers and BMW drivers. Absolutely shocking.
