 Reach for the lazers!

 Why not expose those pins to the max? The weather is actually resembling something close to what can be described as summer and those toned leg muscles that you have been working so hard in developing should be put on display. But how short is still acceptable? Lycra padded hot pants?

Back in September 2008 road.cc posted an article about a bike customisation movement called scraper bikes which started out in Oakland, California. Street kids who didn't have much money would customize their bicycles, not with trick carbon and titanium hand crafted bits of bike jewellery but by rather more humble means, with sticky tape and craft paper!

There could well be an angry farmer out there with an escaped bull because someone has made a bicycle from one of his gates.

It was the launch of Rapha's new cycle club last Wednesday (5th May) and I went to poke my nose in and see what you get for being a member. It isn't a club where you pay membership fee, or a place where women writhe on a pole and it isn't a place to go all night raving either, what you get is a place where you can join a community of fellow passionate cyclists and watch cycling on a couple of big screens whilst sat at an enormous banquet table that stretches the entire length of the main room and enjoy a small coffee.

Just as another local pub closes down another coffee shop springs up. As another post office closes, another coffee shop appears. When that local shop selling nothing but buttons closed, a new coffee shop opened its doors, you may think that there are enough coffee shops already?

I caught up with Gavin Strange the busy man behind this new film last Thursday at the 'A Beatiful Machine' inspiration talks at the Howies gallery in Bristol on Good Friday (where Road.cc also did a talk/conversation/light hearted banter).  The film sets out to capture the spirit of the Bristol fixed gear scene in glorious technicolour and slick edits.

As the envelope of extreme riding gets pushed further, kids are having to develop skills earlier.
