Chris Akrigg. Skills aplenty.

Grasshopper

As the envelope of extreme riding gets pushed further, kids are having to develop skills earlier.

It's a sign

This seems to be quite a common problem in the states with people hacking electronic road signs. To further add insult to possible delays argues the point that bicycles are the best way to travel in town to avoid congestion but it possiblty isn't done in the most subtle manner. It made me laugh though.

Tokyo Fixed in Soho

Tokyo Fixed, Soho Store Launch Party

Possibly one of the largest congregations of fixed gear bikes and riders I have ever seen swarmed to the opening of the new Tokyo Fixed bicycle store in Soho. It was as though the whole population of London fixies were present for the launch party, following the scent of free booze like a Bisto kid on skid row. The pavements in front of the shop were 4 deep in one gear, tricked out cycles. Inside the shop it was heaving with barely enough elbow room to raise a complimentary bottle of beer to one's mouth.

Bobbins

Bobbins shop front, Angel, London

Yesterday evening, with the lure of free alcohol, I cycled over to the new Bobbins bike shop. They plied me with white wine whilst showing off their new range of clothing and bikes. Bobbins isn't like a normal bike shop, it is a bicycle boutique catering for the more discerning, fashion conscious, urban cyclist.

Bad taste

This is not a public

As I was pedalling through a notorious black spot for road accidents, Elephant and Castle roundabout, I noticed the bill board advertising a new drama on ITV called 'Collision'. Bearing in mind that a cyclist was killed practically beneath the sign earlier this year makes it rather insensitive don't you think? Apparently they are advertising another new mini drama outside the Royal Infirmary called 'Cot death'. Sicko's.

Show. Off.

demon brown bike

Well, that's the end of bicycle exhibitions for the year. The Cycle show in Earls court was a good show although I am still not that sure what its exact purpose is? It isn't quite a trade show for brands to show case new kit and it definitely isn't a place where you can purchase the latest bit of bike jewellery.
