Vitus through Chain Reaction is testing my cheque book

With a little one on the way I am thinking of selling on the Bianchi to get one last good priced sportive ready road bike.

After the success of the single speed from Edinburgh Bikes I was interested in their £700 ish machine. Its a nice looking bike with good spec for the money and £100 of free accessories.

Close the book on best team for 2011...

Have just seen a list of the confirmed signings for the Luxembourg team for 2011.

If they get to add Fabian Cancellara to that roster then I see them as pretty unbeatable next season... full stop.

Episode 3 of the "CycleCast" is online.

Split Jacket update - now available on Oakley Custom

I just wanted to provide an update for those of you who read this blog post from a few weeks back talking about the new Oakley Split Jacket range.

For those of you unfamiliar they are a smaller version of the Jawbone, but with the same switchlock technology.

I have now seen that you can get spare lenses from the Oakley website (included vented/drilled for cycling) and that the custom website will let you design your own.

Julich joins Team Sky

The Team Sky website is reporting that former Tour de France podium finisher (ok so it was 1998 when most people got chucked out) Bobby Julich has swapped Saxo Bank for the British squad.

Read more about it here.

A labour of love

As wedding presents go a 50 year old time trial bike ridden in BBAR competitions is one this groom was delighted to be trusted with.

My wife’s Grandfather was some time triallist in his day with a competitive palmares in 100 miles, 12 hour and 24 hour events.

It was with great excitement that I got my hands on the bike last weekend and what an heirloom it is.

The calendar has a mixed bag of events and locations with the Cheshire Cat opening the series before it heads to Cornwall for the Tor.

Have a break...(it's holiday season)

That's all folks, that is my 2010 season boxed up and put on top of the wardrobe never to see the light of day again.

I am now in the process of 2 weeks off the bike (with a bit of exercise coming from light jogging) and taking the chance to rest both legs and mind.

2010 has been a bit mad. I have tried to do a lot of cycling around our wedding and honeymoon. Fit in a couple of sportives around a change of job and selling the house, and training around the family illness and the loss of a much loved pet...

...and I am completely worn out.

First edition of the podcast is online or on I-Tunes

Its been a while coming but finally I have made the time to get the podcast up and running.

The plan is to have it monthly for the time being. There is some interaction required so please get involved.
